The Early Life of George Manneh Weah (Sasstown)

Liberia’s current President George Manneh Oppong Weah and World’s Best/Africa’s Best footballer of the year grew up in Felokri, where he attended kindergarten at F W Dagbe, which has been transformed into a high school today. With a prayer warrior for a grandmother, he grew up in the First United Methodist Church in Felokri, Sasstown, which still stands today in its original place. His childhood home, and most of the neighborhood have been transformed from mud structures into more modern houses by the President. All, makings for a great walking tour. Jekwikpo and felokri football fields are testaments to early days, growing up in the Felokri community.
